COMMUNITY FIRST RESPONDERS

Early intervention can be the difference between life and death and Community First Responders (CFRs) play a significant part in improving the chances for survival and full recovery. Our CFRs respond to incidents in Coleshill and North Warwickshire.

WHAT IS A CFR?

Community First Responders (CFRs) are local volunteers who give up their free time to help save lives in their community. Midlands Emergency Response (MER) CFRs support West Midlands Ambulance Service and are trained to treat and control a wide variety of potentially life threatening conditions and are trained in the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).

HELP US SAVE LIVES

As a charity we rely on donations from generous members of the community and the support of local businesses. Kitting out just one CFR costs around £2000 and every donation we receive, no matter how big or small, helps us to continue saving lives in Birmingham and Warwickshire.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE

If you're interested in becoming a Community First Responder you need to be aged 18+, have a full driving licence, be physically fit, be able to attend incidents whilst at work or at home, have a caring nature and be willing to help raise the profile of our charity.

HOW IT WORKS

    Call 999

Emergency call handlers prioritise a call as life threatening and emergency resources are dispatched

    CFR Arrives

Community First Responders arrive on scene and provide immediate life support to the pateint and reassurance to the family

    Ambulance arrives

An ambulance crew or Rapid Response Vehicle arrives and takes over care of the patient

    FUNDRAISING

We receive no statutory funding and therefore our only income is from generous donations. Every penny donated to Midlands Emergency Response goes directly to helping save lives in the local community.
